This cleansing soap combines Dead Sea mud with sage, a herb used in Palestinian folk medicine, especially in teas and herbal infusions. The mud comes from the West Bank Salt Company near Jericho (Ariha, أريحا), the only Palestinian producer still operating on the shores of the Dead Sea. Rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium, Dead Sea mud has been used in skin care for generations. Handmade in Palestine by women artisans of Sumud Stories.

Alle unsere Produkte werden in Palästina hergestellt und an unser Logistikzentrum in Portugal geliefert. Von dort aus wird jede Bestellung per eingeschriebener Post mit Sendungsverfolgung versendet. Die Zustellung im Zielland erfolgt durch den örtlichen Postdienst.

Dank internationaler Postvereinbarungen können Sie dieselbe Sendungsnummer in den meisten Ländern auch auf der Website Ihres örtlichen Postdienstes verwenden. 

Aufgrund der hohen Nachfrage und des begrenzten Angebots ist jede Bestellung auf eine Kufiya begrenzt .

Die Geschichte

From the Lowest Shore on Earth

At the northern edge of the Dead Sea, near Jericho (Ariha in Arabic, أريحا), stands a Palestinian factory with an unusual history. Engineer Othman Hallak founded the West Bank Salt Company in 1960, and production began in 1964. Briny water is drawn into evaporation ponds and left for months until the salt crystallises. It remains the only Palestinian salt producer operating directly on the Dead Sea shore.

The factory predates the Israeli occupation of the West Bank in 1967. Afterwards the site fell inside a closed military zone and, following the Oslo agreements, became part of Area C. The Hallak family kept working despite restrictions on construction and infrastructure. Electricity only reached the factory in 2010; until then, diesel generators powered production.

The mud in our soap comes from this producer. Dead Sea mud is rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium, and studies have found it well tolerated on healthy skin, with magnesium-rich Dead Sea salts linked to better hydration and skin barrier function.

Sourcing from the West Bank Salt Company and adding sage (maramiyya, مرمية) in Palestine keeps part of this natural resource's value within the Palestinian economy. From the lowest shore on earth, made by Palestinian hands.
