The PalStitch Jeba Tote Bag features a traditional Palestinian Tatreez pattern known as Jeba or Juyoub (pockets). This pattern was traditionally embroidered on the pockets of the Palestinian thob in the Gaza region. Made in Palestine, this tote bag lets you carry your belongings with style, echoing the way Palestinians once carried what mattered to them in their jeba.

Alle unsere Produkte werden in Palästina hergestellt und an unser Logistikzentrum in Portugal geliefert. Von dort aus wird jede Bestellung per eingeschriebener Post mit Sendungsverfolgung versendet. Die Zustellung im Zielland erfolgt durch den örtlichen Postdienst.

A Pattern That Carries Meaning

Tatreez is more than decoration. In Palestine, it has long served as a visual language, passed down through generations of women. Certain motifs are tied to specific regions and villages, while others share personal details about the wearer, from family roots to moments in life. Through Tatreez, history was preserved in thread.

The pattern embroidered on the PalStitch Jeba Tote Bag draws from designs traditionally stitched around the pockets, or juyoub, of dresses worn in villages across the Gaza area, including Majdal and Asqalan. These pocket motifs were placed with care. They were believed to offer protection, guarding what was carried close to the body. Their elongated forms take inspiration from the date fruit, a symbol closely connected to Gaza’s land and daily life.

By bringing this pattern onto a tote bag, PalStitch carries Tatreez into the present. The Jeba Tote is meant to be used and lived with, allowing heritage to move through everyday spaces.

This piece is not a replica of the past. It is a continuation, and a quiet tribute to the women who stitched meaning into fabric, and to a tradition that remains alive.
