Our Kaubar Hirbawi® Kufiya is a heartfelt tribute to the village of Kaubar, pronounced “Kober” (كوبر), which stands as a symbol of resilience for all Palestinian villages and farmers who rely on their olive harvest despite the challenges they face. In the face of settler attacks, land confiscations, and immense hardships, these communities courageously protect and nurture their centuries-old olive trees, defending their land with unwavering determination. This Palestinian keffiyeh honors their enduring spirit and serves as a reminder of their ongoing struggle for justice and the preservation of their heritage.

The Keffiyeh (pronounced “Kufiya” in Palestine) continues to hold deep and symbolic value, and serves as an icon of resistance, struggle and freedom for the Palestinian people. 

The Hirbawi Keffiyeh is handmade using a classic cross-stitching technique honed over generations. The Keffiyeh is traditionally woven on two layers, the “base”, and the “pattern” or “flower” ( وردة) in Arabic. Beyond its unmatched quality, the Keffiyeh maintains its original functionality:

  • Keeping you cool in hot climates under direct sunlight.
  • Effective shielding against dust and fast-blowing winds.
  • Excellent moisture-wicking properties, directing sweat and moisture away from the skin.

The Keffiyeh now comes in a variety of colours and patterns that are evolving alongside Palestinian culture. Today, a wide selection of designs are available, based on historic landmarks, and elements of Palestinian culture, as well as the traditional staple Keffiyeh patterns that are known and loved around the world.

Shipping Costs

All our products are made in Palestine and shipped to our fulfillment center in Portugal. From there, each order is dispatched by registered mail with a tracking number, and final delivery is handled by the local postal service in your country.

For orders outside the EU, customs duties are uncommon but may apply depending on the local laws of the destination country. If they do, it is the customer’s responsibility to handle any related procedures or payments.

If you are located in Palestine or the occupied Palestinian territories, please contact us before placing an order. We deliver locally using a transport company, and payment can be made upon delivery.

Shipping & Delivery Times

All orders are prepared and dispatched from our warehouses in Portugal and the USA.

During restocks or high-demand periods, we may need 1 to 3 weeks to dispatch your order , depending on the size of the restock and the number of orders being prepared.

Once your order has been dispatched, the estimated delivery time is:

  • European Union and USA: 3 to 5 working days
  • All other countries: 7 to 21 working days

Please note that these are estimated delivery times after dispatch. In rare cases, postal services or customs procedures may cause delays, and delivery may take up to 30 to 45 working days after dispatch.

For orders shipped outside the European Union, your parcel may be stopped by customs in the destination country. If this happens, the local customs office or postal service may contact you to request additional information, a declaration, or payment of local taxes, duties, or handling fees.

These charges are not included in our prices or shipping fees and are the responsibility of the receiver. Please follow the tracking updates carefully and respond to any request from your local customs or postal service as soon as possible , to avoid delays or the parcel being returned.

Tracking

Once your order is shipped, you'll receive:

  • A tracking number by email
  • A separate email with your invoice, which may be required for customs clearance outside the EU

We ship by registered international mail from Portugal via CTT (Portugal’s postal service). Your 13-character tracking number can be used to track your parcel on the CTT website and, thanks to international postal agreements, in most countries you can also use the same tracking number on your local postal service’s website.

Due to high demand and limited supply, each order is limited to one kufiya.

This helps ensure more people have the opportunity to own a Hirbawi® Kufiya.

Where Olive Trees Whisper

Nestled on the hills of the West Bank, Kaubar is a Palestinian town whose stones whisper stories of resilience and heritage. Its olive trees, planted centuries ago, still thrive, tended by hands that shape the terraced land, sustaining a community bound by faith, family, and the rhythm of the seasons. Kaubar witnesses history—the echoes of Ottoman rule, the British mandate, and modern struggles—yet its spirit remains unbroken.

The village’s narrow streets and stone houses tell tales of generations who build their lives from the earth. Children run past centuries-old wells, their laughter mingling with the calls of the muezzin. Families gather for harvests, weaving olive branches into baskets, preserving both the fruit and their culture. Weddings and Eid celebrations fill the town with music, food, and the warmth of togetherness, reflecting traditions that survive hardship and exile.

Even as modern challenges arrive, Kaubar’s people hold onto their heritage with pride, teaching younger generations the songs, dances, and crafts of their ancestors. Every olive tree, every stone wall, becomes a symbol of belonging, a living testimony to Palestinian history. Kaubar, though small, stands as a heartbeat of the land, where memory and identity intertwine, echoing the enduring spirit of its people.
